Phew, it’s been an intense 10 days.
Well, today we take a much needed mindful break, and relax.
However, because we’ve been doing so much intense work, and have begun to see the rewards, we don’t want to just sit around and do nothing. Besides, doing nothing isn’t actually relaxing, it’s just being lazy.
Being lazy is so 2016. We’ve seen what happens when we expect others to do the work that we should’ve be doing, and thats why 2017 is all about making changes.
We're ready to be beyond happy and confident, and we know we're going to have to put in the work everyday.
It just is what it is. There’s no secret way around it, and we’ve decided that this year is truly all about being the best versions of ourselves.
So we’ll give ourselves a break and consciously relax.
CHALLENGE:
No matter where you are, and no matter what you’re doing, I want you to just stop. Close your eyes, and take 5 deep breaths.
Seriously.
Stop what you’re doing, and just breathe.
Taking 5 deeps breaths is a proven way to calm your mind down, relax your body, and release whatever stress you’re holding onto.
Let's breathe.
EXAMPLE:
You’re at your desk working, and opened your emails to find today’s challenge. Once you’re done reading this, you’ll stay seated at your desk, close your eyes, and take 5 deep belly breaths.
Breathe in through your nose, and out through your mouth. Stop thinking about anything other than your breath. Just focus on the inhale and the exhale, and let your mind be free of thinking for about just 30 seconds.
I know this sounds crazy, and I'm sure you have a great excuse about why you can't do this right now, but as we talked about on day 1 of this challenge, excuses are just holding us back from feeling really fucking good.
This challenge will literally take you less than a minute to complete, and is now a tool you have to manage stress and anxiety.
I’m convinced smokers are so addicted to smoking because it’s a subconscious break to breathe. Yes, I’m well aware that there are chemicals in cigarettes that make smoking physically addictive, but there’s lost of scientific studies done on the powerful affects of mindfully breathing.
You have nothing to lose by doing this, and truly everything to gain.
I mean why wouldn't you want to feel a little less stressed, right?
I would highly suggest trying to take a 30 second break every hour during your work day to do this challenge. You don't have to move away from your desk, and it's super easy to do.
Breathing is a mental, physical, and spiritual reset for your body and being, and just feels really really good. When you connect to your life force, i.e. your breath, you connect to yourself, and there's nothing more important than that.
Stop holding it in, and just let it go!
Enjoy today, and let your breath guide you into a more peaceful state.
