Another train ride complete, and before we both could fully process it, Emily and I were standing in front of one of the most magnificent churches we have ever seen, the Dom, in Cologne.
Cologne, the fourth largest city in Germany, was a quick day stop on our German adventure, and totally worth it. Thanks to the amazing travel guide Rick Steves, we had our own walking tour, which lead us through both a historical and modern interpretation of the city.
I found my favorite beer, Kolsch, which the area is known for, and we wrapped our very full day with a visit to the city’s own love lock bridge, a little shopping off of Hohe Strasse, and dinner in Fischmarkt.
Our first full day in Germany was a total whirlwind, but would prepare us for many more days like this as we hit 10 cities in 15 days.
